3 Simple Notion Habits That Saved Me Five Hours a Week

Small tweaks to how you use Notion that add up to real time saved — no new templates required.

I love a good template, but sometimes the biggest time savers are just small habits. Here are three I’ve adopted that collectively save me about five hours each week.

First, I use a daily capture page. Every morning, I open a new line in my daily notes database and jot down the three most important tasks. No categories, no tags, just a quick list. This replaces the 15 minutes I used to spend organizing my to-do list.

Second, I set up a ‘Quick Add’ button on my phone’s home screen. It opens a simple form that logs ideas, tasks, or reminders into my Notion inbox. No more losing thoughts in the shower or during a walk.

Third, I review my week every Friday using a linked database view that shows only undone tasks. I reschedule or delete them. This keeps my workspace clean and reduces the mental load of unfinished business.
